Trent Boult was born at Rotorua, New Zealand on July 22, 1989, is a left-arm striking bowler of the New Zealand National Cricket team. In addition, he represents the NZ National team in all formats of cricket. Moreover, he is known as one of the fine fast bowlers who is always a threat for the batsmen of the opposing team. Furthermore, his elder brother Jono Boult is also a Cricketer.

Boult is famous for his left-arm (fast/medium) style having the ability to swing the ball in both ways. He admired the famous Cricketer of Pakistan Wasim Akram from Childhood. Along with the bowling excellence, Boult is also famous for his one-handed Catches with either of his hands.

Trent Boult’s International Career

Boult joined the New Zealand National Cricket team in 2011. Previously he played for the New Zealand A team in 2007 as an under-19 player and took 2 wickets in 28 runs against India.

Moreover, he was the fast bowler(with 143.3 km/h speed) of the New Zealand Under-19 team who participated in the ODI series against Australia in 2009.

However, on the international level, his Test debut was against Australia in 2011/12 where he took 4 wickets and remained dominant. Whereas he became the ball partner of Tim Southee in 2012 against the WI, SL and India. In addition, Boult achieved his best figures of 6/32 in Test Cricket against England in 2018. Later the Series was won by New Zealand and Boult with average 15 wickets and was declared as the player of the Series.

Boult also created his 5-wicket haul in the 4th ODI against India in 2018-19 New Zealand tour and his 5/21 leads team NZ towards the victory of the team. Therefore, he was also declared as the Player of the match.

He was the key for New Zealand to win the 2019-21 ICC World Test Championship. Boult also took the limelight in the 2019 and 2021 ICC Cricket World Cups for his exceptional bowling. Whereas Boult completed his 300 test wickets against Bangladesh in 2022.

Domestic Career

At the domestic level, Boult played for the Northern Districts in 2008-09. Whereas, in 2015 he became the leading wicket taker of NZ team in the ICC Cricket World Cup. After this tournament, Boult was invited to play for the IPL by Sunrisers Hyderabad. Later in 2017 he also played as the team member of the Kolkata Knight Riders and for Delhi Capitals in 2018-19.

 In addition, he also took part in the Global T20 Canada tournament as the player of Toronto Nationals franchise team. Furthermore, he also played for Mumbai Indians in the 13th season of the IPL resulting in the winning of Mumbai Indian in 2020 IPL Season.  Whereas he was declared as the man of the Season for claiming 25 wickets of that edition. His 4/18 figures were the best against CSK in that edition.
