Hardik Himanshu Pandya was born in Choryasi, Gujarat, India on October 11,1993. His father’s name was Himanshu Pandya who was the owner of a small car finance business. Due to the passion of playing cricket in Hardik and his brother Krunal, his father ended his business and migrated to Vadodara for better training in Cricket. At that time Hardik was only 5 years old. After moving to Vadodara, his father enrolled his both sons at the Kiran More’s Cricket Training Academy. Later Hardik got his early education from the MK high school. However, he dropped his studies at the 9th grade to focus only on cricket.

Hardik’s excellence in cricket was shown through his winning of matches single handedly at that time. However, he had to face dropouts from different teams due to his rough attitude. His father Himanshu Pandya once said that Hardik used to be a leg spinner till 18 years of age but after that he converted himself into a fast bowler. Moreover, his turning off into Pacer was due to the insistence of his Baroda Coach Sanath Kumar.

His elder brother Krunal is also a cricket player of India and Mumbai Indians as well. Hardik got married to an actress and dancer Natasha Stankovic in February 2023. Furthermore, he is a father of one child Agastya Pandya.

IPL Career of Hardik Pandya

Pandya’s IPL Career started in 2015 by playing for Mumbai Indians. Hardik Pandya’s excellent performance for Mumbai Indians against Kolkata Knight Riders in a must win situation earned him player of the match award. Later Mumbai Indians retained Pandya till 2021. In the IPL auction of 2022, he was selected by Gujarat Titans as the captain of Gujarat Titans team. Pandya’s international career started by enrolling in the T20I squad against Australia on January 27,2016. In that match Hardik dismissed 2 wickets of Australia. Later he was also part of the Indian Squad who won the Asia Cup 2016 against Bangladesh. Moreover, he hit 31 on 18 balls and also took a wicket. Furthermore, he was also the squad member of India in ICC World T20 2016 and 2021. Later he was selected as the Captain of the Indian T20 squad for matches against Ireland in June 2022. Pandya’s Test Career started on 26 July 2017 in a Test series against Sri Lanka at Galle. During the final Test match, he scored his maiden Test century. Pandya caught in a controversy in January 2017 when he appeared in the TV show Koffee with Karan along with his teammate KL Rahul. During the show he made many controversial statements for which he was backlash by the public and later suspended from the team for some time.
