England Squad: ICC Cricket World Cup 2023

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, the most anticipated event, is to start on October 5. As we know, India will be the venue for the whole event. Prior to that, it was conducted in 2019 and held in England.

Every country’s squad has been confirmed for the event. Furthermore, there are 15 members for each team. However, it all included active players and reserved players. Thus, they all include batsmen, bowlers, and all-rounders.

The point to be noted here is that it’s a very risky decision by cricket committees for each country. Because the winning chance wholly depends on the players. Their skills to play under pressure also influence the winning chance so highly.

Moreover, a total of 10 teams would participate in the World Cup in 2023. However, the teams included Pakistan, India, England, New Zealand, Australia, Afghanistan, the Netherlands, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and South Africa.

Top-ranked players in England

It is to be noted that England’s top batter, Dawid Malan, is ranked 14th in the ICC top batsmen ranking. Furthermore, their top bowler, Chris Woakes, is number 12 in the ICC ranking. In addition, Chris Woakes, the top all-rounder from England, is at number 11 in the ICC ranking list for all-rounders.

Moreover, it would not be surprising that Woakes claimed 16 wickets in the previous World Cup. However, Skipper Jos Buttler is on number 17 in the ICC ranking list.

Moeen Ali

The talented off-spin bowler Moeen Ali is of vital importance for the England team. Although he had faced a lot of criticism for occasionally playing, Yet in 2021, he overcame that to rank as England’s third-most productive spinner of all time.
