First Innings, BAN vs SL

Sri Lanka on 279 runs on the loss of 10 Wickets in 49.3 overs

Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Perera

Kusal Perera and Pathum Nissanka started the first innings as the openers of team Sri Lanka. Whereas Shoriful Islam from team Bangladesh was the bowler here. At the 3rd ball of the innings, Perera Shot a classical boundary 4. However, later on the 6th ball his wicket got dismissed on the ball by Shoriful Islam at 4/5 runs.

Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis (C)

After the loss of 1st Wicket, the Captain of Sri Lanka team, Kusal Mendis came as the next top order batsman. As Nissanka became stable on the crease, he initiated 2 back-to-back 4s and one more 4 on the last ball of the 2nd over flawlessly. At the completion of 5 overs with the addition of one more 4 from Nissanka, total score for SL was 24/1.

Furthermore, Nissanka gave 4 sizzling 4s during the 5th, 6th and 9th over respectively. Later the score for Sri Lanka was 52/1 at 10 overs. After the 10 overs, Mendis too came in the form and initiated a fine class boundary 6 of the innings. However, after just one more boundary 4 during the 10th over he got out on the ball by Sakib Al Hasan at 19/30 runs.

Pathum Nissanka and Sadeera Samarawickrama

Sadeera Samarawickrama was the next player. However, with the difference of just one more over and during the 12th over, Nissanka’s wicket was lost. Moreover, his wicket was dismissed on the ball by Shakib Al Hasan at 41/36 runs.

Sadeera Samarawickrama and Charith Asalanka

Charith Asalanka joined Sadeera as the next batsman on the crease. At the 5th ball of the 14th over, Asalanka initiated the 2nd boundary 6 of the innings So the score became 84/3 for Sri Lanka at 15 overs. Later during the 16th over Asalanka again played a wonderful boundary 6. Furthermore, during the 17th over, Sadeera initiated 2 back-to-back sizzling 4s. At the 20 overs, the score for Sri Lanka was 113/3.

In addition, the partnership of these players went fabulous as the scores increased for Sri Lanka. Later, Sadeera again played 2 boundary 4s during the 21st and 24th over respectively. However, on the 2nd ball of the 24th over he lost his wicket on the ball by Shakib Al Hasan at 41/42 runs.

Charith Asalanka and Angelo Mathews

The next player was Angelo Mathews however he could not appear in the position in 2 minutes as something was wrong with his helmet. Unfortunately, this delay resulted in the time out for him. So, he was timed out before playing a single ball.

Charith Asalanka and Dhanajaya de Silva

After the shocking loss of wicket for Sri Lanka, the next batsman was de Silva. Later Asalanka lifted the mood of the audience by hitting one more boundary 6 during the 26th over. Furthermore, with the addition of 2 more 4s also by Asalanka, the resulting score was 162/5 for Sri Lanka at 30 overs.

At the 5th ball of the 30th over, Asalanka completed his half century by playing a fantastic boundary 4. In addition, de Silva initiated a 4 during the 32nd over following 2 first class boundary 4s from Asalanka.Later the score was 196/5 for Sri Lanka at 35 overs by adding one finer 4 from de Silva.

The first boundary 6 by de Silva was played in the 5th ball of the 36th over. But at the last ball of the 37th over, the Wicket of de Silva was dropped after one more boundary 4. Moreover, he was out on the ball by Mehidy Hasan Miraz at 34/36 runs.

Charith Asalanka and Maheesh Theekshana

The next batsman was Maheesh Theekshana. Asalanka played one more 4 and the score became 223/6 at 40 overs. Nextly 2 overs passed with slow runs without any boundary hit. However, Theekshana initiated his first boundary 4 during the 42nd over, and again a 4 during the 43rd over. In addition, Asalanka to hit a boundary 6 during the 43rd over.

So, the 45 overs were completed with 252/6 for Sri Lanka. Later on, the 5th ball of the 45th over, Theekshana was out by playing one more 4 during the 45th over. Moreover, he was out on the ball by Shoriful Islam at 22/31 runs.

Charith Asalanka and Dushmantha Chameera

Dushmantha Chameera appeared as the next batsman on the crease. Later after one more over passed, Asalanka completed his Century after playing a fine 4 during the 47th over.

Further, Asalanka shot a stunning boundary 6 on the 3rd ball of the 48th over and lost his wicket on the next ball by Tanzim Hasan Sakib at 108/105 runs.

Dushmantha Chameera and Kasun Rajitha

Kasun Rajitha came and went in the blink of an eye as he got out on the 2nd ball, he got by Tanzim Hasan Sakib.

Dushmantha Chameera and Dilshan Madushanka

Dilshan Madushanka came as the last player. However, after 2 more balls, Chameera was out on the strike by Shoriful Islam at 4/9 runs. Whereas Madushanka remained not out with 0/1.

2nd Innings, BAN vs SL

Bangladesh on 282 runs on the loss of 7 wickets in 41.1 overs

Tanzid Hasan and Litton Das

At the beginning of the 2nd innings, Tanzid Hassan and Litton Das were the openers from Bangladesh team. Madushanka was the bowler from the Sri Lanka team. At the 5th and 6th ball of the inning, Tanzid initiated 2 fantastic boundary 4s. In addition, Das also played a 4 on the next ball and at 1.1 overs. However, the flow suddenly halted at the start of the 2nd over where Tanzid’s wicket was dismissed by Madushanka at 9/5 runs.

Litton Das and Najmul Hasan Shanto

Najmul Hasan Shanto was the next top order batsman of Bangladesh. At the 5th ball of the 2nd order Das played a sizzling boundary 4. Whereas Shanto initiated his first boundary 4 during the 3rd over. So, Bangladesh was on 28/1 in 5 overs.

The next 5th over brought a sudden gush of excitement for Bangladeshi Audience as Das Shot 2 classical back-to-back boundary 6s. However, Das got out during the next over by the ball of Madushanka at 23/22 runs.

Najmul Hasan Shanto and Shakib Al Hasan (C)

The captain, Shakib Al Hasan came and started his spectacular innings by a nice boundary 4 at the end of the 7th over. In addition, Shanto also played a wonderful 4 during the 8th over. So, at the 10 overs, Bangladesh was on the score of 57/2 runs. Later during the 11th over, Shakib played a top notch 6 and a fantastic 4. Furthermore, Shanto also played a beautiful 4 which resulted in the total score at 81/2 for Bangladesh in 15 overs.

Shakib Al Hasan brought an uproar again by playing 2 back-to-back 4s during the 15th over. Whereas, Shanto initiated a total of 4 stunning 4s along with a 4 again from Shakib until the 20th over. So, the score became 123/2 for Bangladesh in 20 overs.

Shanto’s graceful shots kept the match and runs for Bangladesh in high speed when he again played 2 4s during the 20th over. In addition, Shanto also completed his half Century in the 20th over. However, Shakib’s half century was completed at the last ball of the 24th over with an elegant boundary 4.

Later with the addition of 3 sizzling boundary 4s from Shakib and a 4 from Shanto along with other runs 29 overs were completed. Moreover, the 29th over was of higher velocity for increasing scores of team Bangladesh with two 4s and a 6 hit from Shakib and a 4 from Shanto.


Further the total score for Bangladesh at 30 overs was 206/2 runs.

However, the match was stopped at the first ball of the 31st over because of the wicket loss of Shakib Al Hasan by Angelo Mathews. The total score made by Shakib was 82/65 runs.

Najmul Hasan Shanto and Mahmudullah

Mahmudullah came as the next player. Further the next over passed with slow runs without any hit. However, on the 2nd ball of the 33rd over Shanto was dismissed on the ball by Angelo Mathews at 90/101 runs.

Mahmudullah and Mushfiqur Rahim

Shanto went and Mushfiqur Rahim came as the next batsman. In addition, he played a beautiful boundary 4 at the last ball of the 33rd over. Following Mushfiqur, Mahmudullah initiated a stunning boundary 6 during the 34th over. In addition, Mahmudullah later shot 3 boundary 4s until the 36th over. However, Mushfiqur lost his wicket during the 37th over on the ball by Madushanka at 10/13 runs.

Mahmudullah and Towhid Hridoy 

Towhid joined Mahmudullah on the crease and shot a spectacular boundary 6 on the 2nd ball he got by Madushanka. Later during the next over, Mahmudullah’s wicket was dismissed by the strike of Theekshana at 22/23 runs.

Towhid Hridoy and Mehidy Hasan Miraz

Mehidy Hasan Miraz was the next batsman. Later the 40 overs were completed with one more 6 from Towhid Hridoy ending with 268/6. However, Mehidy got out at the 1st ball of the 40th over by Theekshana at 3/5 runs.

Towhid Hridoy and Tanzim Hasan Sakib

Tanzim Hasan Sakib came and on the 2nd ball he initiated a boundary 4. Later on, the first ball of the 41st over, the target score of 279 runs was chased by team Bangladesh completing with 282 runs. Towhid Hridoy and Tanzim Hasan Sakib remained not out with 15/7 & 5/6 respectively.

So, Bangladesh defeated the Sri Lanka team with 53 balls and 3 wickets remaining at 282/7.
